Gene was admitted to practice in New South Wales in 2005 and specialises in taxation and private client services (trust law, superannuation and estate planning). He provides advice to other lawyers who appreciate the tax savings and risk mitigation that a tax lawyer provides, as well as to accountants, financial advisers, investment advisers, private bankers, personalities and corporates of all sizes.
Gene practiced as a tax lawyer at Minter Ellison and KPMG, and has experience in all industries, especially financial services. He can also provide tax advice pertaining to a document, transaction or scenario. This includes providing structuring advice and legal opinions. Furthermore, Gene can amend legal documentation so that it incorporates appropriate tax language, as well as drafting documents (including share sale agreements and trust deeds).
Main Areas of Practice
Frank is an experienced lawyer with particular corporate, commercial and litigation expertise. This includes national and cross-border transactions and disputes in both common law and civil law jurisdictions, building and construction law, corporate insolvency and bankruptcy, contract drafting and contract review.
Frank also provides legal advice on directors and shareholders rights and obligations, corporate acquisitions and sales, franchise agreements and sales, commercial leases and financial instruments.
Frank’s commercial acumen draws heavily from his experience working in Mexico, where he advised medium and large corporations in the trade and banking sectors, as well as the Mexican Foreign Office.
Frank is a Member of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) and the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb).
Main Areas of Practice
Marcus has advised clients in relation to all facets of business, commercial law & litigation for over 18 years, with a particular focus on the construction/infrastructure, mining and transport sectors. He is experienced in all forms of complex commercial transactions, mergers & acquisitions and superior court litigation. His expertise in contract drafting is uniquely informed by his extensive complex litigation experience. He is an industry recognised expert in construction law and published author on Security of Payments legislation.
With significant business experience outside the law, and broad knowledge of multiple practice areas, Marcus brings a rare level of commercial acumen and practical skill. Marcus has acted, and continues to act for a range of significant clients including Hunter Water, Mine Subsidence Board, Coal Mines Insurance, Daracon, Thomas & Coffee, Hansen Yuncken, Enviropacific, Pacific Carbon, Arenco and the Bloomfield Group (as in-house General Counsel)
