Early adopters pacing the way

Posted by Marcus McCarthy | 10 October 2016 | News & Events

While it seems to have been around for much longer, it is interesting to note that Eric Chin coined the term “NewLaw” only 3 years ago.  Not long after, Nexus Law Group began to offer “an alternative” in what was then a sea of firms offering lawyers little more than a change of address – and arguably even less to clients.

Nexus is doing something different and we are proud to be mentioned by Chin in a recent article published in the Australian Corporate Lawyer.  This article can be read in full here – The Australian Corporate Lawyer – Spring 2016, Volume 26.

Chin eloquently notes – “As we observe the NewLaw tipping point, it is the innovators, disruptors, adopters and shapeshifters who are shaping this new normal in the legal industry. It reminds me of the innovation diffusion curve, as we are observing ‘innovators’ and ‘early adopters’ of NewLaw pacing the way. Malcolm Gladwell once wrote “there are exceptional people out there who are capable of starting epidemics. All you have to do is find them”. The legal industry is ripe for the NewLaw epidemic as appetite to use and better engage the NewLaw cohort increase amongst corporate counsels.”

Marcus McCarthy is one of those “exceptional people”.
