In his 36 year career in business and law Noric has acquired knowledge and experience relevant for building and protecting businesses and avoiding and resolving disputes. His usual assignments involve building on the points of distinction of client ventures (especially their intellectual property), and then contractually structuring their businesses, ventures and relationships.
Noric excels in helping clients in a wide range of sectors to integrate legal, business and innovation strategy to brand, protect, document, manage, market and commercialise intellectual property, technology and knowledge assets.
As an intellectual property and information technology lawyer he advises on patents, copyrights, trade marks, brands, confidential information, information and entertainment content, computer programs, inventions, formulations, courseware and business systems.
As a contract drafting lawyer he has reviewed, prepared or advised on over 5,000 contracts. They include contracts for internet ventures, software, content owners, food and beverage distribution, joint ventures, shareholders, employees, independent contractors, licensing, technology transfer, publishing, ecommerce, mobile apps and commercialisation.
Since the early 1990s he has been intensively involved for hundreds of clients in digital media asset development and protection, software ventures and contract-based business model innovation.
Noric has also been very active in LegalTech innovation having developed and maintained a documents database of thousands of contracts and related templates to deliver cost-effective advice. This reflects the value he gives to code standardisation and re-use and the application of multidisciplinary know-how for business functions, processes and workflows.
Noric’s approach is deeply multidisciplinary integrating legal, strategy, commercial, design and technology considerations for the ownership, control and exploitation of digital assets including business and creative text, photos, graphic design, films and music.
Since 1983 Noric has continuously worked as a business lawyer. Prior to establishing the firm of Dilanchian in 2000 he worked as a lawyer in national and medium-sized law firms and before that as in-house counsel with Angus & Robertson Publishers. He graduated from the University of New South Wales with degrees in Arts and Law.
